A Short Prayer for a Christian Believer

admin, April 24, 2025

Posted February 15, 2025 – Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You with hearts full of gratitude and spirits lifted by Your love. As we say in the South, “Thank ya, Lord!” for all the blessings You’ve showered upon us. We’re reminded of Your promise in Philippians 4:6, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” [1].

We pray for Your guidance and wisdom, just like Paul did when he said, “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” (Hebrews 4:16) [1]. Help us to be faithful in prayer, rejoicing always and giving thanks in all circumstances, as You’ve taught us (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) [1].

As Jesus taught us in the Lord’s Prayer, we say, “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:9-10) [3]. Give us our daily bread and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil (Matthew 6:11-13) [3].

We thank You for Your love and for being our rock in times of trouble. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7) [1].

In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

—

Now, that’s a prayer that’ll get you through the day, y’all Just remember, the Lord is near to all who call on Him in truth (Psalm 145:18) [1]. So, go ahead, take a moment, and talk to Him like you would to your best friend. He’s listenin’, and He’s ready to help. Bless your heart
