Full Sails, Full Hearts, and a Full Plate! 🙏✝️

Sunday, March 1, 2026

Well, I don’t know what your Saturday looked like, but mine felt like the Lord set the whole day on “High Cotton” and just let it play.

It started early, the way the best days always do — at the White Bluff Global Methodist and Whitfield Baptist Men’s Fellowship Breakfast, surrounded by some of the finest men this port city has to offer. Now listen, when you walk into a room and the Spirit of God is so thick you could cut it with a butter knife and serve it on a biscuit — that’s a good morning, friends. That’s a real good morning. There’s just something steadying about being in a room full of men who still believe in prayer, responsibility, and loving their neighbor like it ain’t just a slogan but a command. You could feel God’s Spirit moving around that place like a fair wind filling sails.

And speaking of a man who knows a thing or two about fair winds—being with my good friend and brother in Christ, John Houchens, Executive Director of Maritime Bethel Savannah— a man who truly lives his calling, always blesses me. I never get tired of hearing John testify about what God is doing through the ministry to seafarers. Those mariners out there keeping commerce moving—often far from home, unseen and unthanked—need somebody to remind them they’re not forgotten. Maritime Bethel is out there like a good lighthouse: not making the storm stop, but helping folks find their way through it.

The breakfast was tasty, the fellowship was rich, and the Spirit of God was the Captain of that whole vessel. Glory!

Then I pointed my bow north toward Springfield, Georgia for a meet and greet with my favorite candidate — the one and only Kandiss Taylor! 🇺🇸

Now let me tell you something — it was wonderful seeing you in Springfield yesterday, Kandiss! This woman is not running for office because it’s convenient or politically fashionable. She is answering a call. There’s a difference, folks — a mighty big one. One comes from ambition. The other comes from above. And anybody who’s spent five minutes with Kandiss Taylor knows exactly which one she’s operating on. I thanked her for stepping up, because these days it takes backbone, faith, and a whole lot of grit to stand up in public and say, “I’m going to represent God and the people, and I’m not ashamed of either one.” Kandiss, I’m pledging my support for your efforts—and I pray everything we do points back to the One who gave us breath in the first place. All to glorify God.

Now — can we talk about Springfield, Georgia for just a moment?!

Friends, I haven’t been up that way in a good while, and I’ll be honest with you — my jaw nearly came unmoored from the dock. I thought I had taken a wrong turn and ended up in some charming little Florida resort town! That place has been transformed! Beautiful, clean, welcoming — Springfield, you are absolutely glowing, and you should be proud! Sometimes it takes fresh eyes to truly appreciate what a community has built, and what I saw yesterday made this old Georgia boy’s heart swell with pride. Well done, Springfield! ⚓🌟

And here’s the thing that tied it all together like a good bowline knot —

All day long, running sweet, steady loops through my brain like a favorite radio station you just can’t turn off, was that old song:

🎵 “They will know we are Christians by our love, by our love… yes they’ll know we are Christians by our love…” 🎵

From those men gathered around the breakfast table in Savannah, to John’s steadfast testimony, to Kandiss Taylor standing up and saying “Here I am, Lord, send me” — that song was the soundtrack of it all. And friend, if that doesn’t bring a little moisture to your eyes on a Saturday morning, you might want to check your pulse! 😄

Thank You, God. Just… thank You.

Bible verse for the day (and for the mission):

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16 (KJV)

Thank You, God, for a day full of faith, fellowship, and forward motion.

And yes—thank You, Lord, for our brave President and for our military, standing watch so families can worship in peace, kids can sleep safe, and the rest of the world is reminded there’s still a line in the sand guarded by courageous souls.

Friends—don’t forget: Vote for Kandiss Taylor in the May Primary. Let’s show up, pray up, and love loud enough that the whole world knows who we belong to. Tell your neighbors. Tell your neighbors’ neighbors!
